Will I have my own room and bathroom?
Yes. Our rooms are generously sized and all have ensuite bathrooms. Some of them also have French windows overlooking the gardens.
Day to day life:
Is there a set routine for the days?
No. We want you to have all the same choices as you would have in your own home so there are no fixed rules about what time you get up and go to bed, or how you spend your days.
Will I be able to go out?
Of course. You family or friends can take you out whenever you wish, or we will make arrangements. We have a lively activities programme, including group outings, and we can also escort you to hospital and other health appointments.
Can I choose what I eat?
Yes. We know how important good food is and we offer tasty, home-cooked food with plenty of choice. Click here to see a sample menu. We can also cater for all types of medically-advised diets.
Can my friends and family visit when they want?
Absolutely. Visitors are warmly welcomed at any time, and they can stay for a meal, enjoy tea and cakes in our café or watch a film with you in our bar and cinema rooms. Our job is to support families as much as residents, and many of them become firm friends, joining our activities committee and popping in several times throughout the week.
Transferring to Darrington Healthcare
Can I transfer from another home?
Yes. We welcome people from other homes and we have created a ‘Transfer with Ease’ scheme that makes the whole process quick, trouble-free and all at no extra cost to you.
What if my care needs change, will I have to move?
No. We offer residential, dementia and nursing care so you can be confident that we have the specialist staff in place to care for you, whatever your needs.
Can you give me some advice on how to fund my care?
Yes. We can talk you through all your options to help you make the right choice for your circumstances. Simply make an appointment to have a chat with one of our care home Managers.
