On Thursday 31st October our residents celebrated in style, with some brilliant Halloween-themed food served right throughout the day.
For lunch, we served Pumpkin Soup and Sand-witches (see what we did there?), and Hocus Pocus Pie followed by Zombeilicious Brain Jelly.
For the evening meal, our chef and kitchen team whipped up Goulash, Monster mash and vegetables, followed by Spooky Bloody Good Cheesecake. A selection of Spooktacular Buns was also later enjoyed by those who still had a bit of room left.
To add to the fun some of our residents also did some pumpkin carving for the first time, with a bit of assistance from staff of course, and a lot of laughing.
Betty Kerry, one of our residents said: “I have never seen anything like this and I have thoroughly enjoyed it, it wasn’t done when my daughter was young.”
Halloween is one tradition from across the pond that we are definitely in favour of here at Oak Park Care Home!
